Evaluation Board TQ STK16XU
Your product was
tested in the uVision simulator and on a sample hardware. We used the
TQ STK16XU evaluation board.
Important: The
delivered example starup code START167.A66 will not match all
applications, evaluation boards, monitors, memory configurations etc.
It can only be used as an example which needs to be changed to the
needs of your project. We deliver the startup file with a deactivated
bus configuration (BUSCON = 0). This will work fine in the simulator
and together with the Phytek MM167 target monitor available in uVision
with the GettingStarted project. If you want to flash your application
to the TQ board and do not use a monitor taking care of the BUSCON
etc., you might also need to change your startup file.
To connect the TQM16XU to debug the GettingStarted example, please
follow these steps:
- connect the serial cable with your PC as
illustrated below
- set all DIP switches off
- set
the 'boot' switch to right (pointing away from the CPU), so
it will not boot from
flash

In
Keil uVision switch the debug mode to the C166 monitor
and verify the correct settings.

You
need to select the right COM port for your machine.

In
the Blinky model the port 2 is used to set the output LEDs. On the
TQ board the LEDs are connected to port 2, so you must see a blinking
LED after starting execution of GettingStarted with the deployed Blinky
files.
If you experience any problems with the
monitor, e.g. after pressing run the connection gets lost, first check
if your memory layout fits the monitor and if you reserved the correct
memory areas for the monitor and vectors.
